About Us
The National Post Doc Symposium (NPDS) is an endeavor to bring together Postdocs and PhD scholars pursuing research in the field of Life Sciences in India.

This symposium aspires to:
Introduce diverse career avenues and facilitate professional growth.
Provide opportunity to network and engage with leaders from multiple sectors of the society.
Serve as a platform to amplify the voice of young research scholars in India and strategize action plans for their betterment.
As part of the event, the participants get to showcase their research work through posters and oral presentations. The event also features panel discussions, mentor-mentee interaction and skill-development workshops.

Since 2017, the symposium has been an annual venture, organized by volunteers from the Post-Doctoral Fellows Association (PDFA) of NCBS and InStem in collaboration with a partner-institute. IndiaBioscience has been a supportor of NPDS from the beginning and has helped in shaping the symposia over the years. The past collaborators were CCMB, Hyderabad and IISER, Pune. This year we are collaborating with IISER, Kolkata.

Report on 3rd NPDS (2019) in IISER Pune
January 29, 2021
The 3rd National Post-Doc Symposium was held from 10 — 13 December 2019 at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, and was attended by over 70 postdocs and late-stage PhD students from around the country. The proceedings and key take-home points emerging from the meeting are discussed below. Registration is currently open for the 4th National Post-Doc Symposium, to be held on 3 – 4 April 2021 in a virtual format.
